Spread the message

There is a big difference between the rural world outside of the city and the urban environment. As Montag escapes from the city, he walks onto the railroad track which symbolize for the American history. This is significant because it really shows the disconnection between human beings and the nature. Moreover, Montag went through the process of floating on the river, which symbolizes as a turning point for the Old Montag to turn in to the New Montag.

At the very end of the story, Granger mentions how human beings and phoenix both burn themselves in fire before they start again from ashes. The message Bradbury wants to send is that if humanity can remember the suffering caused by stupidity, and the mistakes they have made, they will be able to rise back again in the future.
