     The setting for Fahrenheit 451 is in the twenty fourth century. This novel introduces to a world where books are forbidden and is to be burned with the fire because they make people question and think. In this society, television has replaced the family members, and there is no reminders of the past and history. 
 
     The story begins with Montag, a fireman who burns book for a living, metting Clarisse, who opens Montag's eyes to the emptiness of his life with her unusual love of people and nature.
 
     Montag than goes on to experiencing various events. First, the attempts to suicide by his wife, Mildred. Then, the woman who got burned in the fire because she refuses to leave her literature alone. Finally, the death of Clarisse that leads him to stealing books and seeking something out of it.
 
     When Montag tries to read the books, he finds it overwhelming because it is so hard for him to process the words, so he seeks help and support from Mildred, but she refuses to help him and continue with her TV life. Montag then remembers that he once met an retired English professor named Faber in the park, so he decides to visit him. Faber tells Montag that the value of the books lies in the awareness of life they contain, and Montag not only need books to read, but also the time to digest them and the freedom to act upon their ideas.
     
     After meeting Faber, Montag leaves the city to continue on with his heroic journey until he becomes the brand new Montag, whose role is to memorize the Book of Ecclesiastes.  
 
     Later in the story, the city that Montag once lived in gets bombarded with the enemy jets because of the war, and Montag and his new friends  goes back to the city to help survivors rebuild civilization.
